Katie Holmes Follows Up That Cashmere Bra With Another Bold Knitwear Moment

Once strictly reserved for the winter months, summer knitwear has become “a thing” – whether it’s a cropped cardi via Kendall and Bella or knitted coords from EmRata. Of course, Katie Holmes has long been a leading proponent of the summer knit – who could forget that cashmere bra and cardigan set by Khaite?

Now, Holmes is back with another summer knitwear hit via Chloé. Arriving for an appearance on Good Morning America, she stepped out in a knitted cashmere dress and matching blanket scarf draped over her shoulders – a look that may seem far too hot for the heatwave we’re experiencing in the UK right now, but makes sense when dealing with nippy early morning temperatures. The actor completed the casual-luxe look with Chloé’s Nama trainers, made from responsibly-sourced suede and recycled mesh, and her patent A.P.C. Grace bag, which has been on regular rotation of late.

Holmes is a long-time Chloé fan, with the star sporting the French fashion house’s iconic Paraty bag way back in the Noughties. Since creative director Gabriela Hearst took the helm back in 2020, the style muse has often been seen in the designer’s eco-conscious creations, including a white crochet dress at Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. On the accessories front, Chloé’s mini Edith bag and Joy clogs are among her recent favourites.

With the actor often championing sustainably-minded bands (particularly in the footwear arena), it makes sense why she gravitates towards Chloé’s craft-centric knits, which are hand-made by female artisans in the likes of Uruguay, where Hearst grew up, and Peru. If Holmes’s track record is anything to go by, don’t expect the summer knit to be going anywhere soon.
